Commercial Yachting

 

Minimum Requirements

Certification required prior to training:

  • ‘VHF’ (SRC) – ‘’COC’’
  • ‘Yacht Master” – ‘Restricted’ – ‘’COC’’, Or equivalent level
  • ‘STCW’ – 2010 – (Basic Safety Training Courses) – ‘’COC’’

 

Experience required prior to training

  • One month at the sea, as skipper or watch leader, on a pleasure craft / or, 1,000 N.M.’s of logged sea service time
  • A Medical certificate
  • Any additional documents and certifications

  • “GMDSS” – ‘ROC’ – (STCW A-IV/2)
  • Terrestrial Navigation
  • The Diesel Engine
  • Maritime English – (Section 2)
  • Fundamentals of Sea Safety Regulations
  • Safety Training – Practical
  • Swimming
  • Introduction to Sport Fishing – Codes & Ethics
  • Yacht Etiquette

 

Certificate

Submit the following documents to The Lebanese Ministry of Transportation to receive your ‘CoC’ – (STCW A-II/3) – ‘Yacht Master’ – 200 G.T.

  • ‘STCW’ – 2010 – (Basic Safety Training Courses) – Certificates
  • ‘IMA’ Certificates
  • Certificate of practical examination
  • Sea Service Record book
  • Medical certificate

Competence

The successful candidate shall be entitled to act as a skipper on a yacht of less than 24 meters in length, up to 200 G.T., and for a limit of 150 N.M.’s out at the sea.

The successful candidate shall also be entitled to act as a “Second Officer” on a yacht of less than 50 meters of length and up to 500 G.T.

  • “GMDSS” – ‘ROC’
  • ‘IMA’ – ‘Yacht Master’ – 200 G.T. // Or an equivalent level
  • ‘STCW’ – 2010 – (Basic Safety Training Courses)

  • A minimum of 4 months of sea service as an officer of the watch, (OOW), on a pleasure craft
  • Medical certificate
  • Any additional documents and certifications

  • Officer of the Watch (Yachts) Navigation, ARPA / Simulator Team Work
  • Proficiency In Designated Security Duties – (PDSD)
  • Yacht Construction
  • Electronic Chart Display & Information Systems – (ECDIS)
  • Prevention of Pollution – (Section 1)
  • Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats
  • Medical First Aid
  • Yacht Stability

 

Certificate

 

Submit the following documents to The Lebanese Ministry of Transportation to receive your CoC – (STCW-A-II/1) + (STCW-A-II/2) – Yacht Master 350 G.T. (Equivalent to Chief Officer on a 500 G.T. Yacht):

  • ‘STCW’ – 2010 – (Basic Safety Training Certificates)
  • ‘IMA’ Certificates
  • Certificate of practical examination
  • Sea Service Record Book
  • Medical certificate

 

Competence

The successful candidate shall be entitled to act as a skipper on a yacht of less than 50 meters, and less than 350 G.T. up to 150 N.M.’s offshore.

The candidate shall be also allowed to act as a ‘’Chief Officer’’ on a yacht of 50 meters, less than 500 G.T.

  • Yacht Master – 350 G.T. – (STCW A-II/1) + (STCW A-II/2), Or an equivalent level

In addition to the above courses, the candidate is required to hold a minimum of another 6 months of sea service as an officer of the watch, (OOW) on a 500 G.T. Yacht, or as a Captain on a pleasure craft of 350 G.T.

The successful candidate shall be entitled to act as a skipper a Yacht of 50 meters in length, and 500 G.T., with unlimited mileage out at the sea.
